July 17th: HDE 2nd Annual Picnic / Campout

High Desert Equality will be having their second annual Picnic and Camping at the Mojave Narrows Regional Park in Victorville this Saturday.<br /> * Picnic begins at 11am.<br /> * There will be games for kids and adults alike.<br /> * The water park is open and there are paddleboats<br /> * Water- balloon toss at 1pm<br /> * Hot Dog eating contest for kids at 2pm<br /> * Pillow case race at 3pm<br /> * We will be having a Chili Contest from 11am to 4pm, so if you would like to enter please bring your own non-electronic heating apparatus. Ingredients must be homemade.<br /> * Dragball will begin at 5pm<br /> * Poker tournament at 9pm<br /> * Bring friends and family!!!!

The Westside 15 will be open from 4:30pm to 2am with drink specials incase you get thirsty.

June 19th: Park Give Away

Park Give Away will be this Saturday June 19, 2010 from 7 am to 10 am. We are having a feed the homeless and clothes give away at Eva Dell Park. Call Colors of the Desert for info or to donate call (760) 810-3735, or email us at glbtscolorsofthedesert2@yahoo.com. We need tents, sleeping bags, blankets, and backpacks. We also need donations of food (especially bread) or cash for the breakfast.<br /> We appreciate any help the day of the give away.Thank you all for your help to make this a success. June 13th: High Desert Equality Meeting

High Desert Equality's next general meeting will be this Sunday at 1pm. The meeting will be at the High Desert Domestic Violence Program's Women's Shelter (directly across from the Del Taco). HDE will discuss upcoming events like our Second Annual Picnic and Campout, our new role distributing food for HDDVP Outreach Program, and attending Joshua Tree Pride. As always, HDE look forward to your ideas and participation.

On May 29th 2010, Colors of the Desert is sponsoring a AIDS Life Cycle Fundraiser at Westside 15. Horchata will host a special drag show. There will be $2 donations at the door, a date auction, tight jeans contest, raffles, and drink specials.

Folks the Westside 15 is asking for your help and assistance as we dedicate our resources for the month of April for the upcoming AIDS Bicycle Ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles, June 6-10, 2010. Jose Gomez (The Marathon Man) and Ms. Phyllis Lozano of High Desert Courage Campaign will represent the Victor Valley Bicycle Riders. Folks they need our help and support.
